electriclime° are delighted to have signed filmmaker Joris Bacquet for exclusive representation in Australia and New Zealand.
A creatively-dynamic director, Bacquet has been at the forefront of using the newest technology to produce visually-stunning work across the industry.
He has shown this on productions for Issey Miyake, Dior, Kia and many more, with his work showing a proclivity for aesthetic and emotional storytelling.
Check out our chat with him below.
How did you get started in the industry?
I started as a CGI graphic artist on feature film and commercial and moved then to artistic direction as well than direction.
What’s your favourite part of the filmmaking process?
I think the most satisfying part is when you see your ideas becoming to life, that’s wonderful! But nothing could exist without a good pre-production process when everything starts to align in the best way.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
From everywhere. It can come from art or a human feeling, a motorbike fairing as well as drops onto a window glass. Our world is inspiration as long you can see it and catch the potential of it.
When you receive a brief, what are the first elements you are looking for in order to be grabbed by a project?
Mostly the challenge to do something unseen yet, trying new things always and pushing the boundaries of what we were thinking.
You’ve used AI effectively in your projects, how has that elevated your stories and where do you see the future of AI going?
AI creatively speaking allows me to express myself in new ways, new aesthetics and most important new storytelling approaches by creating new visual languages, blending inspirations and mediums to create a new path is incredible. Being able to live a new era and be part of it for a few years already is mind blowing. In my opinion AI will push boundaries far from what our “simple” human minds were able to think of. It’s like you were colorblind and suddenly you can see colours.
Why are you looking forward to joining the Electriclime° team?
New challenges and new opportunities to express myself and push boundaries with new clients, always.
Describe your filmmaking style…
I will say energetic, with a strong graphic artistic direction, dipped into fashion, subcultures and on top of that the use of a mix media approach and new technologies.
